Marc Atkinson is a multi-media artist. His work is often developed through collaborations with communities and is concerned with urban and rural developments and the impact of capitalism on communities and the environment. He studied sound and the moving image at the Royal College of Art and Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. He is currently studying a practice based PhD at Norwich University of the Arts. He has developed and completed a wide range of community based art and heritage projects with Creative England, Heritage Lottery, Arts Council and the British Council. His work has been exhibited across the UK and internationally including at the Whitechapel Gallery, B.FI and Oslo Screen Festival. He has had work commissioned by the Art House Wakefield, Metal, Kings Place and Fermynwoods Contemporary Arts.
